because people get sick in November

Watched The Good Shepherd, burned some cookies, made a yummy spinach and shrimp alfredo. I really, honestly, can’t remember what happened in the first half of the day. Maybe I was abducted by aliens?

I find myself wondering, here at the close of NaBloPoMo, how all the NaNoWriMo writers did this month? November really is a crappy month to write a novel, in my opinion. It’s a crappy month to try to be a blogger. There’s Thanksgiving, and shopping, and colds and flus being passed out like Halloween candy. Why not September? Or April? October?

October sounds good. Let’s do October.

I hope everyone had a happy and productive November.

i know i said no talking about coupons

I may have failed NaBloPoMo, but you have not seen the end of me! I have discovered that I actually enjoy blogging every day. I enjoy the pressure of having to use my brain, every day, to think of something hopefully worthwhile. To try to be creative, informative, or at the very least, make sure you don’t regret the time you spent reading my blog. It’s almost like a job.

And let’s not forget reason #3 for doing NaBloPoMo in the first place - that I will someday be a World-Famous Professional Mommy-Blogger!

All that said, I didn’t actually get a chance to think today. But I did save $57 off of $133 at Meijer! So I suppose there was a small degree of thinking involved. At least I accomplished something :)

oops, i guess i fail

I missed by 14 minutes. Oops. I guess I wasn’t watching the time.

Dylan is starting to feel a little better. The good news is that he does not have pneumonia. The bad news is that he will most likely have childhood asthma. But we kind of knew that already anyway. His doctor says we are an “atopic family.” Meaning both Jim and I have allergies, asthma, and eczema. Basically, we shouldn’t be breeding. Except that we make damn cute kids.

The other bad news is that both ears are still infected.

And more bad news is that he’s not going to be happy when I wake him up to shove a nebulizer in his face in 40 minutes.

nope, not today

Poor sad little boy is sick. And the molar is the least of his problems. That’s all. I’m tired.

it’s okay, I have chocolate

Still working on that molar. We have a very sad little boy over here.

This commercial makes me tear up every time I see it, even if I am sitting with a bunch of strangers at the Secretary of State waiting to renew my tags. Especially the part where the little girl holds up the sign that says, “My mommy’s going to make it.”

[begin public service announcement here] Did you know that if you have a mother, sister, or daughter diagnosed with breast cancer before menopause, you should talk to your doctor about beginning early breast cancer screenings 5-10 years before your relative was diagnosed? My mother was 33 when she was diagnosed. I’m 27 now, and I have my first screening scheduled next week. That’s pretty scary.
